Came out to fix our furnace and when they left we did not have heat or ac. He charged us $195. Burned up 2 transformers the first time including ours. They did not mount it right when jumping it. They left not knowing what was wrong. They came out a second time and still did not fix it just burned up 2 more transformers. We then had to hire hoocks heating and cooling and they figured out that it was just a wire that was grounded in the furnace. They charged us there fees and after we contacted Ricks again and asked for our money back since we were told the reason he was blowing transformers was because he was jumping them while they were on the ground not hooked up correctly and left them like that. He tried to take our new transformer at the end of the second time. He said he would send $50 back via mail and we have still not recieved it. It was very disappointing because we got refered to him by someone in our area. After the first try, a little popper was installed and given to us for free. After the second time of them coming out, they took it back and tried taking our transformer instead of theirs. The owner rick said that we should be thankful that his company didnt charge us the second time after he blew up 2 more transformers, with one being confirmed and found on the floor of the furnace instead of being mounted properly. I was told both times, that the W terminal on my furnace control board was faulty and meeded a new board even after replacing it the first time. Turns out that the ignitor was a 120v while my board is an 80v. They said they cheked the voltage and the dude even knew how to look up the board for details while knowing about the ignitor issue (didnt realize it was a mismatch at the time). I was told that if i wanted to put the new transformer i had (with 4 prongs) in to replace their newer version (hardwired), that i could just switch it over even though im not the expert... The problem the entire time was the ignitor being a 120v while board was 80v. Even afterwards when being told about what the problem was, he still said that I shouldve just paid him $500 to replace the board and everything. The second company to come out got it on the 1st try and even did a little extra to help secure some stuff for free. We were left worse off than we were before ricksheatingandair came out. A problem that shouldve only costed $36, had i know not to replace just the ignitor, but match the voltage with my board which was different than the original that was an 120v. I bought the ignitor 1st and heat still didnt come on. I replaced the original ignitor with the same one (120v) which is why i wasnt getting heat. All in all, it ended up costing 195 from ricks and 336 from hoocks with a 1 year warranty on parts. Wasnt gonna leave a post till the dude didnt give us at least the 50 back for the part that THEY burned up and tried blaming it on my equipment.....
